Au canada, un artisan fabrique des ustensiles de cuisine en bois qu'il envoit régulièrement à sa fille, Nikole. Un jour, elle décide d'ouvrir une boutique en ligne, Herriot Grace, pour vendre les jolies créations de son père. Elle photographie ces objets avec beaucoup de talent, ça donne des natures mortes remplies de douceur et de mélancolie.

J'adore le travail de cette artiste japonaise Chiharu Shiota qui se caractérise par un mélange de performances artistiques et d’installations spectaculaires pour lesquelles elle utilise en les accumulant de vieux objets comme des lits, des chassis de fenêtre ou des chaussures. Elle explore ainsi les relations entre passé et présent. A cela s’ajoute parfois une dimension onirique par le tissage de véritable toiles d’araignée complexes et impénétrables, generalement en cordelette noire, mais parfois aussi rouge. La simplicité des matériaux rend d’autant plus fort l’impact de ses oeuvres…
