Naïve, Modernism and Folklore in Contemporary Graphic Design





This Book is a bible ! Naïve, informs the extraordinary revival of the classic modernity, from 1940 till 1960, in the graphic arts. This compilation presents a new wave of young creators who rediscover the stylistic elements calling reminding the classics of graphic conception such as the screenprinting, the classic typeface, the letters in the hand, the wood and the popular art and the intégre in their work. Inspired by the American legends of the XXth century such as Saul Bass, Charley Harper and Alexander Girard, the works of the graphic designers presented in this work were inspired by it, going of illustrations, posters of art, editorials, book covers and to register sleeves in the ruling and the textile.
